An “ekka”, the usual native conveyance “up country” in India. Law limits the capacity to six, which seems to be the usual number. Space really for only one. I had to ride to an out of the way palace at Jeypore in one yesterday. At Kapurthalla our 3 trunks and 4 bags went 7 m. in one for 50 cts. [three men riding in horse-drawn cart]
