Scope and Contents

The Fred Dohrman collection consists of photographs of Fred Dohram and his
dog sled mail team. The photographs are taken on the route between Seward and
Anchorage in 1917. These photographs are copies of the originals loaned by Carl
Deupree, Dohrman’s nephew. The photographs concentrate on photos of his team along
the route and show several roadhouses, as well as different mile points. Also included in
the collection are pictures of H. Street, Fourth Avenue, and the ship Alemeda at Anchor
in Anchorage in 1917. A postcard of the First Annual Fair in 1917 at Anchorage is in the
collection as well. The Collection is arranged in number order. Please see photo list for
specific photograph information.
