The Blöte Collection was purchased from a series of original negatives owned by a Mr. Blöte of
San Francisco.

The Blote collection consists of photographs of the Alaska Railroad, Anchorage Harbor in 1917,
Girdwood, and a County Fair at Anchorage in 1917. Alaska Railroad photographs include
photos of Nellie Neal Lawing, Tunnel Three, Five, and Six, Engine Number Four, Moose Pass to
Portage, and the Loop District. Girdwood scenes include a dog team, Glacier bar, a sled hauling
gold, and people. The collection is arranged in number order in two folders.

This collection was purchased by the Anchorage Museum in 1974.
