Laurence Tyler Artifacts was a seller of American Indian and Eskimo baskets, carvings,
beads, and other antiques, located in Seattle, Washington.
The Laurence Tyler Collection consists of 212 photographs and 111 negatives. The
photographs are black and white and are primarily of gold mining in Alaska and Alaska
Natives. The gold mining photographs include images from the Klondike Gold Rush and
Chilkoot Trail, mining in Nome and on the Seward Peninsula. Images of Alaska Natives
are primarily of villages and people from the Bering Sea coast and southeast Alaska.
This collection was purchased by the Anchorage Museum in 1971.
