Scope and Contents

The Fowler collection consists of photographs of various Alaska scenes. Subjects
in the collection include the dogs “Klondyke” and “Nanuk”, Skagway, Caribou
swimming the Yukon, Sheep camp, East Cape in Siberia, Eskimos, a Taltans Tribe
Medicine Man, Juneau, Gold bars, St. Michael’s Cathedral, Bennett Lake, Chilkoot Pass,
Treadwell mine, and Skiing at Mount Alyeska. Also in the collection are two poems, one
entitled “Rain” the other “Hell”. With the collection also came a book of Audubon bird
paintings. Photographers of the collection include Dedman, Adams and Larkin, Cann,
Winter and Pond, and F.H. Nowell. The photographs are housed in the photo file
