Administrative/Biographical History:
Judge James Wickersham, (1857-1939) was appointed District Judge of the Third Judicial
Division of Alaska in 1900. He presided on the Nome bench during the transition of judgeship
from Arthur H. Noyes to Alfred S. Moore.

Scope and Content Description:
One black-and-white photographic enlargement, a group portrait of James Wickersham and
other men posed against wall with two baskets of vegetables. The men are identified on the
photo. Back row (l. to r.): L. Hauge, H. Karstens, F. Cotter, A. Cameron, R. Geis, W. Perry, F.
Schaupp, J. Sherlock, R. Brown, J. Thornton, J. Nelson. Front row (l. to r.): H. Gilcher, J. O'Gara,
