Administrative/Biographical History:
The Fairbanks Chamber of Commerce began the Winter Carnival in 1934. The Miss Alaska
pageant began in 1922.

Scope and Content Description:
The collection consists of two black-and-white photographs of the Miss Alaska contest at the
Fairbanks Ice Carnival in 1938 and 1939, along with ephemera pertaining to the Sons of the
