Administrative/Biographical History:
John “Jack” Bruce Coghill, Sr., was born in 1926 to William Alexander Coghill (1884-1947) and
his wife Frances, early residents of Fairbanks and Nenana. A businessman and politician,
Coghill served as mayor, territorial representative, Constitutional Convention delegate, state
representative, state senator, lieutenant governor, and chairman of the state Republican
Party.

Scope and Content Description:
The Coghill collection includes 21 photographs of Alaskan taverns and roadhouses, people and
dog sleds. For more information, see Detailed Description of Collection.
