Administrative/Biographical History:
Donald R. Cadden was born in Darrington, Washington, in 1924. After serving with the U.S.
Army Transport Service during World War II, he entered the Oregon Province of the Society of
Jesus in 1946. He was ordained as a priest in 1958, and served as a parish priest, a teacher,
and a chaplain. He was a sculptor-in-residence at Gonzaga University. Cadden died March 4,
2018.

Scope and Content Description:
The collection consists of 53 color 35mm slides taken during a trip down the Yukon River in the
1960s. For more information, see Detailed Description of Collection.

Restrictions on Access: The collection is open for research use.

The Anchorage Museum is the owner of the materials and makes available reproductions for
research, publication, and other uses. Written permission must be obtained from the
